You're prepared for any tour with this sock. The integrated X-Cross Bandage protects the sensitive ankle area. The excellent padding at the instep and heel offers additional Protection against pressure points and skin abrasions.
Details
- X-Cross Bandage Stabilizes the ankle. A cross ankle bandage knitted from elastic AirDens material, it holds everything in place and optimally supports the feet's function.
- Achilles tendon Protector reduces the incidence of pressure points and the risk of scraping and bruising.
- Heel Protector. The heel area is particularly prone to blisters: The Heel Protector absorbs friction and thus effectively decreases the risk of blistering.
- Traverse AirFlow Channel System. a ventilation system made up of three channels that conduct moisture and heat to the intake area of the AirConditioning Channel. The traverse ventilation system insures that large areas of the sole of the foot, areas normally tightly pressed into the shoe, are amply supplied with fresh air.
- Anatomically shaped footbed for the "R"-right and "L"-left foot. The Air-Conditioning-Channel extends under the arch and aerates the foot allowing free and natural mobility with each step.
- Instep Protector cushions and acts as a shock-absorber, significantly reducing the incidence of painful pressure points and scraping, bruising and blistering.
- Toe Protector. The asymmetric Toe Protector of Robur -absorbs pressure and perfectly hugs the contour of the asymmetric toe area.
- AirGuide placed along the AirConditioning Channel, it creates a thin layer of air between the boot and your skin and thus ensures the continual circulation of fresh air If the foot is dry, chances are lower that a blister will form.
- AirConditioning-Channel Air-conditiones the Foot. It is constructed using a fine-knit mesh, so with every step moist air is pumped out of the shoe and fresh air is drawn back in.
- Self-adjusting Cuff adapts to any size leg without slipping or constricting.

What do we think: When we first tried these socks they seemed counter to all we were used to in trekking socks. We were familiar with socks that surrounded your foot in wool cushioning and did a great job at absorbing any sweat from your feet. These X-Socks at first site seem strangely thin. However, they only cushion your foot where cushioning is required and have thin channels to help your feet breath. They aim to minimise the tendency for you to sweat whilst protecting your foot where necessary.
The acid test though is how comfortable are they in use? We can now say that they are great...and to anyone who suffers from hot feet then they are a godsend.
